The B+ Mushroom is a cultivated strain of Psilocybe cubensis, one of the most well-known hallucinogenic mushrooms on the planet. The name refers to the strain’s light brown, yellowish, gold top caps (wild P. cubensis is usually a little darker) as well as the information many users claim to have received.
It’s questionable whether B+ mushrooms is truly more informative than other sorts; some users claim that the quality of the trip is determined by the mushroom strain used, with some being more visual, others more physical, and so on. In contrast, others believe that a cube is a cube (potency does vary). P. cubensis is known for causing both excellent and unpleasant “symptoms,” such as euphoria, introspection, and hallucinations—as well as some less pleasant ones, such as nausea and anxiety. Serious adverse effects are rare, although they can occur.
Aside from P. cubensis, there are several psychoactive Psilocybes and some hallucinogenic species in the Amanita genus that contain a very different active ingredient and provide a very different kind of trip. Any of them could be considered “magic.” Still, when people talk about magic mushrooms or shrooms, they usually refer to P. cubensis, either the wild form or a cultivated strain like Golden Teacher.
Effects
B+ has an average potency among P. cubensis strains, and excursions are typically shorter than usual, lasting two to four hours—a benefit for newcomers who aren’t aware if they’ll enjoy the experience. Users describe the experience as peaceful and pleasant, with just minor sights but a significant physical component.
Dosage
The amount of mushroom the user should take is determined by the type of experience required (mild, moderate, intense, or microdose), the person’s weight, and whether the mushroom is fresh or dried. It’s easy to determine a dose for P. cubensis use, and since Golden Teacher has a modest potency, that amount should be close to right. However, because humans and mushrooms are both different, users will have to explore.
Growing B+ Mushrooms
B + mushrooms are one of the most straightforward P. cubensis strains to grow, as they will fruit extensively on nearly any substrate and in less-than-ideal conditions. It’s an excellent choice for new growers. The sole disadvantage is that this strain takes longer to ripen than others. Colonization takes roughly two weeks, although it’s recommended to wait an extra week after it appears to be finished just in case.
Like other P. cubensis strains, B+ can be grown using almost any method, but it must be done correctly; growers who play with hybrid tweeks without having the experience lead them to bad results.
Buying vs. Growing B+ Mushrooms
Is it better to produce magic mushrooms like B+ or buy them? Each has pros and cons.
Even the issue of legality is a bit of a toss-up because while growing may provide a lower risk of penalty for some people in some areas, buying is safer in others.
Consumption of psilocybin in any form (including that of a mushroom) is banned in most areas. Still, because spores do not contain psilocybin, they are legal to buy and sell, which means that a grower can purchase everything needed to start a run without breaking the law. Allowing the spores to germinate is a crime, but no one other than the grower should know it.
The purchase of spores is still banned in some countries, and psilocybin for personal use has been legalized in others. In either scenario, the benefit of growth is reduced.
Aside from legality, purchasing from Fungus Head is faster, simpler, and can be done one dose at a time—a significant advantage for beginners who aren’t sure if they’ll ever need a second dose. Growing, on the other hand, is significantly less cheap per dose. It’s also simple to save spores for the subsequent increase by allowing a few mushrooms to develop and then taking a spore print. Some strains are difficult to gather spores from. However, the Golden Teacher mushroom is not one of them.
